Slope Stability Assessment

A Slope Stability Assessment is a process that is governed by the City of Calgary Slope Stability Management Framework and City of Calgary Slope Stability Management Policy under which the city may ask for a geotechnical letter or report prepared under seal and permit to practice stamp from a qualified geotechnical engineer, for review and acceptance by the City.

The purpose of the slope stability report is to verify that the proposed development will not have an adverse effect on the stability of the slope and will maintain a minimum factor of safety of 1.5, to the satisfaction of the Geotechnical Engineer, Roads.

We have worked in Calgary for a long time, giving us a lot of local experience with many of the neighborhoods commonly affected by slope stability concerns in Calgary.

Depending on comments in your Development Permit Review from the City of Calgary, your project site, and our knowledge of the area, we may be able to complete your assessment using information gathered from previous assessments. If we can safely rely on previously gathered geotechnical data, we will let you know – and pass the savings onto you.
