Calgary Soil Bearing Report
A soil bearing report, or SBR, is a report that details the conditions of a site subgrade prior to building foundations. It is a requirement for certain City of Calgary inspections such as the pre-board phase for new home building permits, and for Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) approval where it may be referred to as a Soil Bearing Certificate.
An engineer from Factor will visit your site upon request and determine if the foundation elevation subgrade is safe to build on. If it is, we’ll issue a report within 24 hours stating that you are OK to proceed with foundation construction.
If we find that your site is not suitable to continue with construction, we will provide recommendations and options for you to choose from so that we can safely approve your site for construction.
